Last night my friends and I burnt a flag together.

I’m disgusted by hearing we shouldn’t burn flags in regard to Ferguson because of the people who died for this country. As someone who witnessed her father slowly lose a battle to Hepatitis C he contracted in Vietnam, as someone who counted all the scars to match his purple hearts, as someone who watched her dad lose his fucking mind with PTSD, my dad DID NOT go through that for a country where cloth means more than the lives of black people. I am not present-day father-less for fuckers to use the flag as an excuse to overlook what is happening to this country. You have none of my support, or my father’s. Don’t you dare lump him in with people who died for this country to support your sickening endeavors and racism. I lit that flag on fire for him.

Fuck you, fuck you, fuck you. 

Burn the flag, burn it to the fucking ground.
