The luchador mask wearing preacher is most likely a reference to Sergio Gutiérrez Benítez, an actual Mexican priest who founded and financially supported an orphanage by becoming the masked luchador, Fray Tormenta (Friar Storm).

Nacho Libre and a host of other video game characters are based off this man, and I’m fairly certain that the character in the film is a loose reference as well.
